I Guess It Can't be About the Views All the Time

Over the Memorial Day long weekend I spent a lot of time hiking.  But these trails were not to any fantastic vistas or mountain peaks.  Sometimes you have to just put in the miles in preparation for that future objective...to those fantastic vistas and mountain peaks!

Summer backpacking season is here!  Queue the conditioning hikes to get in shape!  Most of my recent activity hasn't been picturesque, but does the trick for required training of mileage and elevation gain.  As a self proclaimed view seeker, I usually head to the vista or peak as the "reward" for my effort.  But turns out, when you look closely, there are beautiful and interesting perspectives everywhere in nature.  Oh, and I did manage to find one view!
