Favorite Seattle Skyline Views

I will admit...I am a view seeker.  Whether in the city or the mountains, I love finding the places with the best views (call it the reward for my exploration).  There are so many beautiful locations in and around Seattle.  But the city skyline, in of itself, makes for one of the best images.  Here are my top five vantage points (in no particular order) to see great Seattle city views.
Gas Works Park and Lake Union
The view from Gas Works Park and Lake Union looks south towards the city.  The lake itself is beautiful and you can enjoy views of South Lake Union, Eastlake, Queen Anne, and the Space Needle.  Given that I live nearby, I'm around Lake Union often and the view never gets old!

Ferry to Bainbridge Island
From the Seattle downtown waterfront you can board a Washington State Ferry to Bainbridge Island.  The island is about a 45 minute ferry ride across the Puget Sound from Seattle, making for a fun day trip.  After the ferry pulls away from the dock, the views looking back east on Seattle are fantastic!  You'll get an up close view of the downtown/city center, waterfront, Port of Seattle, professional sports stadiums, and the Space Needle.

Kerry Park
One of the quintessential views of Seattle is from Kerry Park in Queen Anne.  Go on a clear day and you'll see Mount Rainier looming large on the skyline.  The view point up Queen Anne hill gives you a great perspective looking south on the Space Needle, downtown Seattle, and the Puget Sound.

Alki Beach, West Seattle
Head over to West Seattle, a short drive or bike ride around from downtown and you'll get great views looking back east on the city.  Alki Beach offers a pedestrian/bike path along the water with sweeping views of the Puget Sound, downtown/city center, waterfront,  Port of Seattle, professional sports stadiums, and the Space Needle.

Bhy Kracke Park
Is it "bike rack" park?  Or "buy crack" park?  Or something else entirely?  Hmm, doesn't matter...this lesser known park on Queen Anne hill delivers the views looking south towards downtown, South Lake Union, Queen Anne, and the Space Needle.
